Thinking about my practice-led research proceeds in a mycelial manner for me. 
This seems similar to the 'rhizome' proposed by Deleuze and Guatarri, as opposed to arboreal thinking.

I have used one of my mycelial photographs as a photo-negative for a cyanoprint, which demonstrates this rhizomatic or mycelial thinking clearly.
